Designing a Sustainable Future: Explores Innovation in Eco-Friendly Packaging
BINUS University’s School of Design – New Media and Interior Design major, in collaboration with The World’s Delegates Club, successfully hosted the event “Designing a Sustainable Future”, bringing together students, academics, and industry experts to explore the future of sustainable packaging design.
The event aimed to highlight how design thinking, when paired with environmental responsibility, can drive innovation in the eco-friendly packaging industry. It also provided a valuable platform for students to engage with real-world sustainability practices and rethink how packaging can be both functional and environmentally conscious.
Industry Highlights
Two leading organizations in sustainable packaging shared their expertise:
- Rendy Aditya Wachid, from Parongpong introduced their locally made, biodegradable packaging solutions, focusing on zero-waste systems and community-based production models that support both people and the planet.
- Dewi Woro D, from Kanepackage Indonesia, part of the Kanepackage Group from Japan, showcased their commitment to recyclable packaging materials and lean, sustainable production methods. Their presentation demonstrated how high-performance design can align with environmental goals.
