This digital artwork was created when I was still a freshman, during a period when I was deeply uncertain about my future. At the time, I was torn between pursuing Biology and Visual Communication Design, and I remember feeling sad and confused about which path I should choose. Rather than choosing one world over the other, I created the work “Organic” as a way to bring the two worlds together.

I have always been fascinated by the organic forms and structures found in biology, particularly the complexity and beauty of human muscles. At the same time, I discovered that organic forms also exist naturally within visual communication design. This became the foundation of the work: a meeting point between biology and design, exploring how both fields can share the same sense of fluidity, complexity, and wonder to keep exploring.

Looking back at the piece now, I also see something beyond its concept. The bleeding strokes, untidy forms, awkward decisions, and lack of technical knowledge reflect exactly where I was at that point in my journey. There is something blunt and innocent about the work that I now appreciate. It records a version of myself who was still figuring things out and left it imperfect as it is.

The dream itself did not completely stop, but it changed direction. I eventually chose Visual Communication Design, but I don’t think that meant leaving my fascination with biology behind. “Organic” reminds me that sometimes our paths do not need to be separated into one choice or another. The things we once thought were conflicting can become part of the same journey.
